I do not miss childhood, but I miss the way I took pleasure in small things, even as greater things crumbled. I could not control the world I was in, could not walk away from things or people or moments that hurt, but I took joy in the things that made me happy.

Emu over Cathedral Rocks by Carlos Orue

The Emu in the Sky ie. The Milky Way, rises high over the horizon above an old volcanic rock site weathered by strong Pacific Ocean waves called Cathedral Rocks found on the east coast of the Australia, near the town of Kiama. A last minute decision to head out and capture some stars lead me to the coast as far away from light pollution as possible. Luck was on my side when I decided to trek along the coastal rocks as the tide was at its highest and beginning to drop.
“Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst.”— 1 Timothy 1:15 (via fiery-blue-firefly)
I told God, “I’m lonely.”
“I’m the Friend who sticks closer than a brother,” came His tender response.“I feel unloved.”
“I loved you first. I have loved you with an everlasting love.”“I need strength.”
“I am your strength.”“I have no hope.”
“I am your hope.”“I’m restless.“
“I am your rest.”“This sin and temptation is more than I can bear.”
“But, my dear, I am He who bore your every sin and temptation. (My grace is sufficient.)”“I’m not sure how much more of this I can take. I’m so weary.”
“I am your burden-bearer. I will carry it for you. (I will carry you.)”“I’m falling.”
“I will catch you.”“This is impossible.”
“I make the impossible, possible.”“I feel lost.”
“I’ve already found you.”“They rejected me. They left.”
“I will never leave you nor forsake you.”I told God, “I’m not sure…I just feel very stuck. I want more.”
He smiled. “I AM more.”— I told God (and He replied) | b.b.
“The only time a Christian should be first is when they’re the first to apologize, first to confess their mistakes, first to care and humble themselves. Never to compare or compete with another’s worth, because we got the heavenly riches and it’s enough to go around: first.”— J.S. Park
